Daffodil Day Fundraiser

Tandem supports the Irish Cancer Society’s Daffodil Day fundraising throughout the month of March. 

In 2020, an estimated 44,000 people in Ireland received a cancer diagnosis. That is 120 people per day, or 5 people per hour, hearing the words “you have cancer!”.  

Tandem’s walking group have signed up to the walking challenge to fundraise, if you would like to support their efforts, you can do so here. Tandem also hosted a weeklong coffee morning during the week of Friday, March 25th, to raise funds for Daffodil day.  

Thrive Committee Activity: Kayaking

Tandem Thrive Committee organised an unforgettable adventure—Night Kayaking at Lough Hyne with Atlantic Sea Kayaking! It was a fantastic experience being on the water from dusk into darkness, taking in the scenic views with the sparkle of bioluminescence.

At Tandem, we believe in fostering workplace wellbeing, and this magical experience was the perfect way to recharge and reconnect with nature.

Tandem’s Advance graduates and undergraduates night out

Last Friday night, some of Tandem’s Advance graduates and undergraduates gathered for a catch-up dinner and to welcome two new graduates into our Advance Graduate Programme!

This was a great opportunity to connect, share experiences, and chat about the graduate journey.

Tandem’s 2-year Graduate Programme is designed to give graduates the best possible start to their careers through tailored training and development plans.

We are proud to work with and support young professionals during the early stages of their careers.

Associate Director Appointments

Tandem wishes to congratulate Orla Daly and Sam Lee on their recent promotions to its leadership team!

Orla Daly has been appointed to the role of Associate Director for Talent Solutions and Sam Lee has been appointed as Associate Director for Finance and Business Transformation.

Tandem’s Commitment to Carbon Reduction

In 2023 Tandem signed up to the Science Based Target Initiatives (SBTi) goal to reduce emissions in line with the Paris Agreement. Tandem has committed to a 42% reduction in Greenhouse Gas emissions by 2030.

Tandem has established a Carbon Action Team to measure, monitor and report on our GHG emissions annually to the Carbon Disclosure Project.

Some of the Carbon Action Team’s initiatives include:

  • Purchasing Renewable Energy
  • Sourcing sustainably produced goods and services
  • Monitoring and reducing waste
  • Reducing the amount of paper used in our operations
  • Switching to electric company vehicles
  • Ensuring office utilities are operating efficiently
  • Seasonally adjusting temperature controls in the office 

Advance Graduate Presentations 2024

Tandem held it’s annual Advance Graduate Presentations with two of our young engineers graduating from the programme. The senior leadership team and attendees heard presentations from five graduates across Environmental Health & Safety, Process Engineering, Building Services, Civil Engineering and Digital Transformation. The graduates reported on their programme to date, the work that they have undertaken, the technical and personal skills that they have developed, the positive impact of Tandem’s culture on their early careers and their key learning from the programme.

Jason Cullinane and Joe Golden also presented a work-related lunch and learn as part of their second-year programme. The skills and knowledge that they presented were indicative of their growth as engineers in the past two years with Tandem.

Congratulations to all the presenters on a great event, and congratulations to Jason and Joe on graduating Tandem’s Advance Graduate Programme.

Town Hall & Summer Night Out 2024

Tandem held its bi-annual town hall on Friday, 5th July. The town hall offers an opportunity to provide the team with a mid-year analysis of company goals, achievements, client feedback and our community engagement and wellbeing initiatives to date. We also report on environmental initiatives, Tandem’s digital transformation programme and training & development.

Following the town hall, Tandem gathered for a summer celebration, it is always a great opportunity to network, share ideas and connect on a personal level with colleagues.
